John W. Harris

John W. Harris has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. John W. is currently serving as the Interim CEO of Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. since March 2022. Prior to this, in 2016, John co-founded ButterFLi and held the positions of EVP and General Counsel.

Before their involvement with ButterFLi, John was the Principal and founder of Harris & Associates, a multi-disciplined law firm specializing in labor and employment, wage and hour defense, commercial and product liability litigation, among other areas of law. John W. established this firm in 1980 and continues to be associated with it.

Additionally, John has a background in transportation services as the Owner and CEO of SMS Transportation Services Inc, which operates a fleet for construction sites and non-emergency medical transportation. John W. has also founded the Harris Consulting Group and served as its owner since 2011.

From 2013 to December 2018, John held the position of CEO/Managing Member at KSJ Construction. John W. oversaw various notable projects, including the South Central Los Angeles Regional Center, IKEA Burbank, and the L.A. Rams Stadium.
