Nigel Bourn is an accomplished conservation professional with extensive experience in the field, currently serving as Chief Scientist and Director of Science and Policy at Butterfly Conservation since January 1996. In these roles, Nigel Bourn manages the scientific conservation team and oversees the organization's survey, monitoring, and species conservation efforts. Previously, Nigel Bourn held the position of Director of Conservation, contributing to the development of the Society’s conservation work. Earlier experience includes working as a researcher at the University of Cambridge, focused on farmer attitudes towards wildlife conservation. Nigel Bourn holds a PhD in ecology and conservation from the University of Aberdeen, an MSc in Conservation from University College London, and a BSc in Environmental Studies from the University of Hertfordshire.
