Ellie Boland has had a varied career since 2014. Ellie began as an Administrative and Communications Assistant at Fisher Education Consultants in 2014. In 2015, they held two roles simultaneously; a Sales Assistant at Card Factory and a Student Ambassador at the University of Essex. In 2016, they worked as a Recruitment Events Assistant at the University of Essex. In 2017, they became an Editorial Assistant at Aceville Publications Ltd. Finally, in 2019, they joined Butternut Box as a Customer Love Representative, where they were responsible for freshly prepared dog food cooked like one would at home and delivered in perfect portions. Ellie was later promoted to Senior Customer Love Representative and then to Customer Love Team Leader.

Ellie Boland attended the University of Essex from 2013 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Creative Writing.
