Ian James

Ian James is an experienced architectural technologist with a robust background in design technology and Building Information Modeling (BIM). Currently serving as Design Technology Coordinator and BIM Model Manager at Architecture BVN since April 2012, Ian manages the Revit Model for the New Thomas Street Building at Sydney’s UTS Campus, in collaboration with Concept Architects Durbach Block Jaggers. Prior experience includes a secondment as Model Manager, Training and Mentoring at BVN Donovan Hill and significant roles at BDP, focusing on diverse sectors such as healthcare, education, retail, and residential projects. Ian's career began as an Architectural Technician in the 1980s, leading to positions that involved complex project management and compliance with stringent regulations. Ian holds a BSc Hons in Software Engineering from Salford University.
