About the role:

The Product and Engineering organisation at BVNK are looking for a Chief of Staff to work directly alongside the Chief Product Officer as we scale. You’ll be a key member of the Product and Engineering leadership team at BVNK, and will act as an extension of the CPO to balance priorities, communicate effectively, and maximise the effectiveness of the leadership team.

In this role, you’ll act as a strategist, advisor, and decision-maker through involvement with operations, recruiting, and special ad hoc projects. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the entire organisation can scale effectively, and will work directly with the Product and Engineering leadership team to identify problems and inefficiencies, alongside owning the planning and communication processes that cascade through the team.

As Chief of Staff, you will:

  • Work daily with the CPO and their leadership team to understand the top strategic priorities for the Product and Engineering organisation
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the CPO, standing in for them at meetings, taking key decisions, and speaking on their behalf
  • Help facilitate clear and concise decision making across the Product and Engineering organisation
  • Support the CPO in setting and communicating overall product strategy across the BVNK portfolio of products
  • Support the CPO in setting overall communication strategy, planning of internal events and help align internal communications
  • Act as an extension of product and engineering leadership, representing the team in cross-functional meetings and in open forums
  • Run the “rhythm of the business,” establishing the operating rhythm of the team and helping to facilitate its execution wherever possible - owning planning from both an operational and staffing perspective
  • Identify scaling issues and action fast and effective plans across the organisation to resolve them, keeping key stakeholders across the business in the loop at all times where necessary
  • Identify and resolve issues gaps with actionable, data-guided recommendations. Create systems and processes that will avoid such problems in the future

What we need from you:

  • Experience working in a high growth, product led, scaled tech/fintech company within a product, engineering, or strategy organisation.
  • Experience in structuring and executing complex analyses to support strategy in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
  • Experience in business planning, strategy and operations.
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across product, engineering, business operations, finance, legal etc.
  • You’re extremely process driven and organised, and enjoy using this to the benefit of the organisation.
  • Experience in building and managing large organisational budgets.
  • You’ve seen Product and Engineering done excellently at scale and can apply your learnings to similar situations
  • Exceptional verbal, presentation, listening and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding facilitation, collaboration, and influencing skills.
