James Zehnder II

Senior Product Engineer, Controlled Powertrain Mounts at BWI Group

James Zehnder II is a seasoned Senior Product Engineer with extensive experience in automotive engineering, particularly in controlled powertrain mounts and suspension dampers. Since joining BWI Group in November 2009, James has led core and application engineering initiatives, developing advanced technologies such as the second-generation Magneto-Rheological (MR) powertrain mounts and low-cost selectable dampers for diverse global markets. Prior to BWI Group, James held multiple senior engineering roles at Delphi and General Motors, where key contributions included validating the first SUV application of MagneRide™ dampers and advancing brake system technologies. James holds a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville, complemented by an Associate and Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering from the same institution.
