Richard W. Loving

Rick W. Loving is senior vice president and chief administrative officer for BWX Technologies, Inc. overseeing human resources, communications, security and environmental health & safety functions. In this role, he is responsible for advancing a corporate-wide culture of innovation and inclusion through global workforce optimization, brand management, facility and personnel safety and security.

Before joining BWXT in 2016 as the senior vice president, Human Resources, Mr. Loving served as the senior director of International Human Resources at McDermott Incorporated, a premier provider of technology, engineering and construction solutions to the energy industry employing 32,000 worldwide. During his tenure at McDermott, he served as the global director, HR Business Services and the senior director, Human Resources – Middle East, India & Caspian responsible for all human capital activities within the region.

Mr. Loving has more than 40 years of experience with manufacturing, energy and government operations. He began his career at Babcock and Wilcox (B&W) holding positions in safety, security, community relations and human resources across the organization. In 1997, he was president of subsidiary B&W Protec, Inc. in Richland, Washington before serving the company as director of Administration. He was also the director of HR Administration & Environmental, Safety and Health.

Mr. Loving holds a Master of Arts in personnel management and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Lynchburg College. A Lynchburg native and a proud supporter of the local community, Mr. Loving serves on several boards of directors including Academy Center of the Arts, Lynchburg Police Foundation and the Virginia College Fund.
