James E. Stowers III is Owner and Founder of Oxford Companies, LLC, owner of Hangar Ten Aircraft, Oxford Development, a real estate development company developing The Glade, a mixed-use Research and Technology development on 325 acres in Kansas City, Missouri. Jim is a board member of Integrated Alpha Investment management. Prior to 2008, Jim served for 27years with American Century Investment Management, Inc., lastly as its Chairman in 2008. Jim is a board member of Stowers Resource Management Inc., the supporting organization to the Stowers Institute for Medical Research. He serves as a member of the Advisory Council for the Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Missouri Kansas City. Jim also serves as a member of the Advisory board of the Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute and is a member of the University of Kansas Health Advancement board. He served for 15 years on the board of the Kansas City Zoo, lastly as it’s Chairman, and remains an Advisory Board member. Jim is a private pilot holding type ratings in multiple Citation models. Jim and his wife Michele have two children, Layne and James. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Arizona State University.
