Maarten Nieboer

Maarten Nieboer is a highly experienced professional in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, currently serving as Vice President of Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls at Byondis since September 2025. Prior to this role, Maarten held the position of VP - Global Head of CMC at uniQure, where responsibilities included leading the CMC efforts for HEMGENIX, the first FDA-approved gene therapy for hemophilia B. Additional experience encompasses senior consulting roles at 3D-PharmXchange, as well as an Executive Director position at Merck focused on biologics manufacturing sciences and commercialization, contributing to key projects such as Keytruda. Maarten's background also includes extensive leadership roles at DSM, overseeing cGMP operations and process development, as well as early-stage project management. Maarten began the career as a scientist in molecular genetics at Gist brocades after earning a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from ETH Zürich and an M.Sc. in Biology from the University of Groningen.
