Michele Koury

Michele Koury serves as the Clinical Director at Know Yourself Counseling since November 2018, specializing in private counseling and consultation for individuals and groups. In addition to this role, Michele is a Byrdie Wellness Board Member and previously held the position of Social Chair at the New York Mental Health Counselors Association, NYC Metro Chapter from January 2017 to January 2021. Prior experience includes serving as a Psychotherapist - LMHC at the Blanton Peale Institute from September 2015 to June 2019, and working as a Writing Instructor at Columbia University in the City of New York from July 2012 to September 2015. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, achieved between 2014 and 2016, a Master’s Degree in Nonfiction Writing from Columbia University from 2012 to 2014, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Sarah Lawrence College from 2008 to 2012. Additionally, Michele completed a Practitioner Program at Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy between 2016 and 2017.
