Igor Zakharov

Senior Research Scientist at C-CORE

Igor Zakharov is a Senior Research Scientist at C-CORE since October 2011, specializing in SAR, polarimetry, interferometry, and electromagnetic wave propagation, particularly in sea ice and iceberg monitoring. Expertise includes image processing algorithms, machine learning, data analysis, and electro-optical data processing for various sensors. Prior roles include Visiting Fellow at Canada Centre for Remote Sensing focusing on SAR image processing, Senior Research Scientist at the ITM of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus leading remote sensing projects, and Research Scientist at the Institute of Applied Optics with a focus on imaging technologies. Education includes a PhD in Technical Sciences from the United Institute of Informatics Problems and a Diploma in Physics and Mathematics from Mogilev State University.
