Renat Yulmetov

Senior Research Scientist at C-CORE

Renat Yulmetov is a Senior Research Scientist at C-CORE since February 2019. Prior experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Memorial University of Newfoundland from March 2016 to January 2019, where research focused on mechanical interactions between ice ridges and structures, along with developing algorithms for the Smart Iceberg Management System. As a PhD candidate at the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) from January 2012 to August 2015, Renat studied iceberg towing feasibility in broken ice and validated a numerical towing model. Early career experience includes a technician role at Gazprom Space Systems in early 2009, contributing to the development of technical requirements for onboard control systems of small satellites. Renat holds a Ph.D. in Arctic Offshore Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and a Master of Science in Engineering Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).
