Associate Director Of Chemistry at C4X Discovery

Cathy Lucas has a diverse work experience in the field of chemistry. Cathy is currently working at C4X Discovery Ltd as an Associate Director of Chemistry since May 2022. Prior to this, they held the roles of Project Leader & Medicinal Chemist from February 2018 to May 2022, and Medicinal Chemist from December 2015 to February 2018.

Before joining C4X Discovery Ltd, Cathy worked at Redx Pharma. Cathy served as a Team Leader - Medicinal Chemistry from October 2014 to December 2015. During this time, they collaborated with a large pharmaceutical company on an oncology target and demonstrated expertise in hit finding and hit-to-lead optimization. Cathy also held the position of Senior Scientist - Medicinal Chemistry from July 2013 to September 2014, where they worked independently and as a key team member on an oncology target. Additionally, Cathy worked as a Scientist - Medicinal Chemistry from October 2012 to June 2013.

Cathy's previous experience includes working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Cambridge from May 2011 to September 2012. Cathy contributed to a research project focused on the synthesis of a bioactive natural product using novel methodology. During this time, they actively participated in group discussions and supervised a Masters student.

Cathy started their career as a PhD Student at the University of Nottingham from September 2007 to April 2011. Cathy'sproject focused on the synthesis of biologically active prenylated natural products. Cathy also gained experience working as a Summer student at AstraZeneca in 2006, where they explored the scope and limitations of continuous-flow hydrogenation reactor and conducted research on novel reactions.

Cathy's earliest work experience was at RPA Communications as a Medical Conference Manager in 2004.

Cathy Lucas attended Durham University from 2003 to 2007, where they obtained a degree in Chemistry with Mathematics. Cathy completed their studies and achieved a First-class degree.
