Alexa Avitto, MPH has a diverse work experience. Alexa began their career in 2010 as a volunteer counselor and lab assistant for the Biotechnology High School's "Biotech Boot Camp." In 2014, they became a Biology Lab Assistant at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), a member of the TCNJ Biology Graduate Studies Club Executive Board, and a student researcher for the TCNJ Mentored Undergraduate Research Experience (MUSE). In 2015, they were an Occupational Safety and Environmental Services - Chemical Tracking/Software at TCNJ. In 2016, they were a Publications Assistant Intern at the Electrochemical Society (ECS) and a Research Specialist A in the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, working in Dr. Beatrice H. Hahn's laboratory to study the evolution and origins of HIV, SIV, and Plasmodium parasites. In 2018, they were a STEP Data Management Intern at Prevention Point Philadelphia. In 2020, they were a Lead, Genomic Studies and Research Specialist C at the University of Pennsylvania's Gene Therapy Program. In 2021, they are an Associate Scientist at Cabaletta Bio and a Cycling Instructor at Upcycle Fitness.
Alexa Avitto, MPH has a diverse education history. Alexa received their Master of Public Health from the University of Pennsylvania in 2019, where they studied Global Health. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, General from The College of New Jersey in 2016. Alexa also attended Biotechnology High School from 2008 to 2012. Additionally, Alexa has obtained certifications from the National Institutes of Health Office of Extramural Research, American Red Cross, and Mad Dogg Athletics\u00ae.
