Ali Smith Gong has a wide range of experience in the fields of education, research, partnerships, and communications. Alexandra (Ali) is currently an Operations and Partnerships Associate at Cabinet Health, an Adjunct Professor at Baruch College and Hunter College, a Research Team Lead at Think!Chinatown, and a Programs Coordinator at the Chinese American Museum Washington, DC. Previously, they were a Partnerships Manager and Museum Educator at the Tenement Museum, Director of Communications and Public Affairs at the 1882 Foundation, Curatorial Intern at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, Client Service Coordinator at Bridgewater Associates, and a Legal Assistant and Office Manager and Legal Intern at Bromberg, Kohler Maya & Maschler, PLLC.
Ali Smith Gong began their educational journey in 2005 when they graduated high school from Choate Rosemary Hall. From 2009 to 2013, they attended Georgetown University where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies and Chinese. In 2012, they attended East China Normal University to further their Chinese studies. In 2018, they earned a Master of Arts degree in International Migration and Urban Studies from The Graduate Center, City University of New York. Alexandra (Ali) is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Sociology from The Graduate Center, City University of New York and is expected to graduate in 2025.
