Naturalist Programs Coordinator at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium

Diane Alps is an experienced marine life educator and researcher, currently serving as the Naturalist Programs Coordinator at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium since 2000, where programs are designed to connect the public with ocean wildlife. Additionally, Diane holds the position of Adjunct Research Scientist at Cascadia Research Collective since April 2020 and has worked as a Research Associate with WildSEA/California Whales and Wildlife since November 2010. Previously, Diane was the Executive Director at Channel Islands Cetacean Research Unit until January 2023 and served as the Large Whale Stranding Coordinator for the American Cetacean Society/Los Angeles Chapter from 1999 to 2019. Diane has also held leadership positions as a Board Member and President with the same organization. Educational credentials include studies at Oregon State University from 2010 to 2017.
