Semih Sogutlu

Semih Sogutlu has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Semih started their career as an intern at KALE Group in 2008. From 2011 to 2013, Semih worked as a freelance web developer. During this time, they also provided private tutoring in math and test prep.

In 2013, Semih joined Sky Technologies Inc. as a software engineer, where they worked on bug fixes and features for clients such as Credit Suisse and Bank of America. Semih implemented sprint cycles and gathered continuous feedback from customers.

From 2014 to 2017, Semih worked at TNTP as a full-stack developer. Semih enhanced software architecture and development practices, supporting the expansion of teaching fellowship programs. Semih also played a key role in hiring developers and gathering requirements from users.

Semih joined Insider Intelligence in 2017 as a senior software engineer and team lead. Semih built content creation and email subscription pipelines, redesigned user experiences, and collaborated with product teams to define priorities.

In 2020, Semih joined Happy Money as a senior software engineer and later became a staff engineer. Semih created a roadmap for services to improve software delivery velocity and implemented event streaming for multiple teams, setting standards for the company.

From 2022 to 2023, Semih worked at Mastercard as a lead software engineer. Semih collaborated with teams to onboard applications to the ecosystem, overhauled logging principles, and streamlined company-wide logging practices.

In 2013, Semih also worked at the Yleana Leadership Foundation as CTO and head of mathematics. Semih built an in-house CRM tool, provided instruction for an SAT prep camp, and oversaw developers in coding and code reviews.

Currently, Semih is working at Caden as a software development engineering lead, starting in 2023.

Semih Sogutlu obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in System Engineering from Yeditepe University from 2004 to 2009. Afterwards, they pursued an M.Sc. degree in Mechatronics Engineering - Cont'd at Istanbul Technical University from 2009 to 2010. In addition to their formal education, Semih Sogutlu also obtained several certifications, including "Think Like A Relevance Engineer - Elasticsearch" from OpenSource Connections in March 2019, "German Language - C1 Certificate" from DID German Institute in December 2011, and "JAVA Programming Language" from C and System Programming Association - Istanbul Turkey in April 2010.
