Senior Program Manager, Microsoft Surface Hub at Cadence 3

Matt Clark, MBA has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Matt started their career as a Industrial Designer at STRENG, where they were responsible for concept realization and construction of working prototypes. Matt then moved to Strand Design as an Industrial Designer before joining J. Miller as an Apprentice Furniture Designer.

Following this, Matt worked at Specimen Guitar Shop as a Manager, where they reorganized the shop space and implemented an active inventory system. Matt also managed a team of six and oversaw the total redesign and workflow management of a small production studio.

Matt went on to work at Specimen Products as a Manager, balancing individual contributor work while leading the rebuilding of a metal/woodworking studio. Matt reorganized the inventory system, improved production efficiency, and converted handmade speaker horns to CNC operations.

Matt then joined Materious as a Business Development Manager, where they managed and monitored potential growth opportunities. After that, Matt worked at UIC Innovation Center as an Industrial Designer, executing functional and aesthetic prototyping and design research.

At Microsoft, Matt held multiple roles. Matt first served as a Program Manager, Design Prototypes, managing the relationship between different departments for shared product prototyping and development. Matt then transitioned to a Program Manager, Surface Hub, where they coordinated contract manufacturers and various teams for a WDG Devices hardware product.

Most recently, Matt worked at Microsoft as a Program Manager (Manufacturing & Experiences) for the Surface Hub portfolio. In this role, they handled build planning, budgeting, and coordination with numerous teams. Matt also set forecasts for build costs and unit COGs, as well as device coverage and usage plans.

Currently, Matt is a Senior Program Manager at Cadence 3, where they focus on Microsoft Surface Hub.

Matt Clark, MBA, has a diverse education history spanning multiple institutions and fields of study. Matt began their educational journey at New Trier High School, where they completed their secondary education from 1997 to 2001. Subsequently, they attended the University of Rochester from 2001 to 2002 to pursue studies centered around Visual Cultural Studies and Film.

Returning to the University of Illinois Chicago, Matt Clark then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial and Product Design from 2006 to 2010. Their interest in design further led him to complete a degree in Industrial Design from the same institution, from 2007 to 2011.

Seeking to enhance their skills in business and entrepreneurship, Matt Clark enrolled at the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business. From 2016 to 2019, they completed Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree, focusing on Business and Entrepreneurship. Additionally, they enrolled in Startup School Online in 2018 to 2019, undertaking the Y Combinator MOOC focused on Startup School 2018.
