Jennifer Velten has had a varied work experience. In 2009, they worked as a Resident Assistant, Stagehand/Usher, and Teacher at Ohio University, as well as a Bookseller/Cashier at Barnes & Noble. In 2011, they began freelance editing. From 2014 to 2015, they were an Assistant Learning Teacher at the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program. From 2015 to 2020, they were an Administrative Assistant at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. In 2020, they were an Administrative Assistant at Advocate Radiology Billing & Reimbursement Specialists, LLC. In 2021, they began as a Project Coordinator at Cadmore Media. In 2022, they began freelance editing again.

Jennifer Velten has a long history of education. Jennifer obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature, General from Ohio University in 2013. Following this, they completed a Certificate for Completion of the New York University Summer Publishing Institute (SPI) in 2013. Jennifer then obtained a Teaching English as a Foreign Language certification from International Teacher Training Organization: ITTO in November 2013. In 2018, they completed their MA in Publishing from The George Washington University.
