Adam Roach

Adam Roach has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Adam has been working at Caffeine since 2016, where they started as a Technical Advisor and is currently serving as a Principal Engineer.

Prior to joining Caffeine, Roach worked at the IETF as a Participant and Working Group Chair from 1998 onwards. Adam later took on the role of Applications and Realtime Area Director, Internet Engineering Steering Group (IESG) Member from 2017 to 2020.

From 2012 to 2020, Roach was a Principal Engineer at Mozilla Corporation, where they played a significant role in the implementation and standardization of protocols for voice and video communication in web browsers. Adam also led the creation of Firefox Hello, a WebRTC-based browser feature.

Before joining Mozilla, Roach worked at Tekelec as a Principal Engineer, Office of the CTO from 2008 to 2012. During this time, they provided strategic input to Tekelec's product direction and engaged with key customer accounts.

Roach's earlier experience includes serving as the CTO and Partner at Estacado Systems, LLC from 2004 to 2008. Adam also worked as a Principal Engineer at dynamicsoft Inc. from 2002 to 2004.

Roach's career began at Ericsson, Inc. in 1994, where they held multiple positions including Software Designer/Developer, Software Architect, and Systems Architect. Adam was involved in the development of mobile SIP voice/presence/instant messaging client, 3GPP CSCF node, and overall network architecture for a 3GPP compliant IP Multimedia system.

Adam Roach attended Bellaire High School from 1986 to 1990. After completing high school, they enrolled at Texas A&M University from 1990 to 1994. At Texas A&M, Adam pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering.
