Micheál Kenny

Micheál Kenny has extensive work experience in various engineering roles. Micheál started their career as an Apprentice Electrician at South Tipperary County Council, where they maintained electrical switchgear and pumps in water treatment and sewage plants, as well as performed domestic electrical work in council houses. Micheál then worked as an Industrial Electrician at Heyday Electric, where they installed conduit and trunking, terminated cabling, and wired electrical circuits for lighting, sockets, switches, and fuse boards.

After that, Micheál worked as an Industrial Electrician at Mercury Engineering, where they performed similar duties, including installing conduit and trunking and wiring electrical circuits. Micheál then joined Intel Corporation as an Equipment Technician, where they carried out qualification, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of Sputtering machines. Micheál also worked on electrical, electronic, high vacuum, and pneumatic systems and carried out process troubleshooting.

Next, Micheál worked at Genzyme Genetics as an Equipment Maintenance Technician, setting up new machinery for production runs and carrying out Factory Acceptance Testing and qualifications. After that, they joined Abbott, where they held various roles. First, as a Senior Equipment Technician, they worked on engineering project work to increase machine reliability and led equipment projects such as machine upgrades and safety interlock upgrades. Later, as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, they project-managed the design of manufacturing fixtures and worked on projects such as safety blade elimination and new 3D printer introduction.

Currently, Micheál Kenny is working as a CQV (Commissioning, Qualification, Validation) Engineer at CAI. The duration of this role is not specified.

Micheál Kenny's education history begins with their completion of a Basic Engineering Practices program at Clonmel Central Technical Institute in 1994. Following this, they pursued a Senior Trades Certificate in Electrical Practices at Limerick Institute of Technology from 1994 to 1998.

In 1999, Kenny attended Technological University Dublin, where they obtained a HETAC Certificate in Microelectronic Engineering, which they completed in 2002. Continuing their education, they enrolled at Waterford Institute of Technology in 2008 and completed their Bachelor of Engineering (Ordinary) degree in Manufacturing Technology in 2010.

Finally, Kenny attended the Institute of Technology, Sligo from 2012 to 2014, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechatronic Engineering.
