Since January 2011, Diane Lemieux has headed the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ), an umbrella organization for Québec’s construction industry, responsible for applying the legislation governing this industry. Before joining the CCQ, she was Director of the Office of the Mayor of Montréal (2009-2010) and Vice-President of Business Development at Vision Globale, the largest Canadian company offering film and television-related services (2008-2009).

Prior to that time, Ms. Lemieux represented the riding of Bourget in Québec’s National Assembly (1998-2007). During that period, she served as Minister of Labour, Minister of Culture and Communications, President of the Committee on the Economy and Labour and House Leader for the official opposition. Before entering politics, she was President of the Council on the Status of Women (Québec). A law graduate from Université de Sherbrooke, she started her career at the Regroupement québécois des centres d’aide et de lutte contre les agressions à caractère sexuel (organization grouping sexual assault help centres in Québec), where she worked for 10 years.
