Sara Candeias

Sara Candeias, PhD, serves as the Chief Data Officer and Chief Executive Director for Data & AI at Banco Montepio since October 2021. Prior to this role, Sara held the position of Principal at BearingPoint, focusing on digital business transformation. Between 2014 and 2019, Sara worked at Microsoft in various managerial roles related to data and AI solutions, driving digital transformation initiatives across industries. Sara's academic background includes a Post-PhD in Speech Processing and a PhD in Linguistics from Universidade de Coimbra, supplemented by executive education in Digital Business Strategy from INSEAD. Sara has also held teaching positions at several universities in Portugal and Brazil, contributing to the fields of computational linguistics and speech technology.
