Patricia Ferreira da Silva

Patricia Ferreira da Silva has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Patricia began their career as a Financial Director at Case in 1994 and subsequently worked as a Financial Director at Ace until 2005. Patricia then joined Logica in 2005 and held the role of Division Financial Controller until 2007, when they became an Operations Manager. From 2009 to 2012, they worked as Global Reporting and Service Enablement Support SAP at Logica. In 2013, they started working at Caixa Mágica Software as a Finance Manager and later transitioned to the role of CFO in 2015. In 2016, they became a Board Member at ESOP - Associação de Empresas de Software Open Source Portuguesas. Patricia'slatest position was as a CFO at WalliD from 2018 to 2019.

Patricia Ferreira da Silva received their EMBA degree in Management from ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa in 2008. In 1997, they attended AESE for a PDE program, although the field of study is not specified. From 1992 to 1995, they studied Controlo Financeiro at Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa.

Caixa Mágica Software (CMS) is a Portuguese SME company, leader in the open source market segments in Portugal. It provides multiple services which include specialised business consulting, development of software projects, training and certification, research and innovation. CMS has developed numerous projects with diverse deployment targets, starting with its own Linux distribution, to firmwares for Android mobile phones, web portals, creation of multiple services for security, embedded systems, open architectures and mobile applications. The Linux software distribution “Linux Caixa Mágica” was born on October 2000 at a research lab of University ISCTE-IUL, winning a prestigious award "Milénio Expresso 2000"​. The distribution became rapidly very popular and as the team and demands increased, a spin-off company was created, called "Caixa Mágica Software"​. Since then, Linux Caixa Mágica has been shipping thousands of laptop and desktop computers in Portugal, covering areas such as Education, Military and Public Administration. Caixa Mágica has strong ties with the Portuguese public administration, participating in the development of the middlewares for the Portuguese Identity Card system, and extending the concept towards its standardisation and compliant with the other European systems. It also has close interactions with the Innovation and Research departments of diverse industry such as Telecommunications and Media (working on Set-Top Boxes and other embedded systems), Energy, Mobile systems (mainly Android and iOS mobile applications, Android embedded systems, and Android TV apps), and Cloud-based platforms for supporting Manufacturing Systems.
