Anna Minkina has held a variety of roles in the fields of genomics and computational biology. From 2008 to 2009, they were a Research Assistant in the Psychology and Biology Departments at Carleton College. From 2010 to 2016, they were an Assistant Scientist at the University of Minnesota. In 2020, they were a Teaching Assistant for Introduction to Statistical & Computational Genomics at the University of Washington Genome Sciences Department. In 2021, they were an Intern in Computational Biology at Cajal Neuroscience, where they developed a computational method for assigning transgenic barcodes to cells in scRNA-seq data, worked with others to ensure data compatibility with both R and Python, performed integration and trajectory analysis of published human scRNA-seq datasets, and worked in a collaborative computational space. In 2022, they began working at Cajal Neuroscience as a Scientist (Computational Biology) and Computational Biologist.
Anna Minkina has a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Genome Sciences/Genomics from the University of Washington, which they obtained between 2016 and 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Biology from Carleton College, with a minor in Neuroscience, between 2006 and 2010. Anna is currently in the process of obtaining an Advanced Data Science Option and a Computational Molecular Biology Certificate from the University of Washington.
