Scientific Manager - In Vivo Sciences at CajalNeuro

Kat Korvas has over five years of experience in research and clinical settings. Kat began their career in 2014 as a Laboratory Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Western Washington University, studying the neurobiology of relapse and the dopaminergic reward pathway in the research laboratory of Dr. Jeffrey Grimm. In 2016, they took on the role of Clinical Research Assistant at Bellingham Asthma, Allergy and Immunology Clinic, and also worked as an Undergraduate Neurosurgery Intern at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center, where they shadowed neurosurgeons and observed the process of diagnosing and treating patients in a variety of neurological cases. From 2018 to 2021, Kat worked at the Allen Institute for Brain Science as a Research Associate I and II- Neurosurgery & Behavior, before taking on their current role as Manager - In Vivo Sciences at Cajal Neuroscience.

Kat Korvas attended Newport High School from 2007 to 2011. Kat then went on to Western Washington University, where they graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience and a minor in Chemistry. In 2018, they obtained a CPR, AED & First Aid Certification from the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) and MEDIC First Aid.
