Kimberly Scearce-Levie has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Kimberly is currently the Chief Development Officer at Cajal Neuroscience, starting in July 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Denali Therapeutics from 2015 to 2023, holding positions such as Vice President, Translational Sciences; Head, Translational Sciences; and Senior Director, Translational Sciences. From 2008 to 2015, they worked at Genentech as an Associate Director, Senior Scientist, and Scientist. Earlier in their career, they worked at Gladstone Institutes of Neurological Disease/UCSF as a Staff Scientist and Postdoctoral Fellow from 1999 to 2007. Kimberly also gained experience as a Scientific Writer and Editor at Washington Technology from 1991 to 1993.
Kimberly Scearce-Levie pursued their education in a systematic manner, starting with their undergraduate studies at Harvard University. Between 1987 and 1991, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Cognitive Science. Following this, from 1993 to 1999, they attended Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, where they obtained their PhD in Neurobiology.
