Luke Funk has six years of work experience in various roles. In 2013, they worked as a Records Management and Engineering Intern at the City of Longview. In 2014, they worked as a DAAD RISE Research Intern at TU Braunschweig, a Student Grader at LeTourneau University, and an Electric Circuits Supplemental Instructor at LeTourneau University. In 2015, they worked as a Biomedical Optics Research Intern at Massachusetts General Hospital. From 2017 to 2022, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where they received a PhD under Paul Blainey as an NDSEG Fellow and was awarded NSF GRFP (declined). During this time, they also applied in situ sequencing technologies to perform large-scale image-based CRISPR pooled screens. Currently, they are working as a Scientist at Cajal Neuroscience.
Luke Funk completed their Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Biomedical Concentration) at LeTourneau University from 2012 to 2016. Luke then went on to pursue their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics (MEMP) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2022.
