Matt Freund

Matt Freund is a seasoned investment professional with extensive experience in portfolio management and fixed income strategies. Currently serving as Co-Chief Investment Officer at Calamos Investments since November 2016, Matt oversees the investment team and manages fixed income strategies. Prior to this role, Matt was with USAA for over 22 years, leading a team of over 70 investment professionals and managing portfolios totaling over $100 billion. Matt has held multiple portfolio management positions, including overseeing the USAA Intermediate-Term Bond Fund, Short-Term Bond Fund, and High Income Fund. Earlier experience includes roles as Director of Fixed Income Research at MetLife and Senior Investment Analyst at Arthur Young. Matt holds an MBA in Finance and Investments from Indiana University Bloomington and a BA in Accounting from Franklin & Marshall College.
