Richard Scott

Richard Scott is Chief Legal Officer at CalAmp and oversees CalAmp’s global legal affairs, compliance, corporate governance and secretarial functions. Scott joined CalAmp in 2021 and brings over 25 years of global legal experience in contracts, intellectual property and transactions across multiple verticals including technology, energy and transportation.

Serving in both public and private global companies across diverse industries, Scott has led legal teams dedicated to pragmatically assisting companies in successfully achieving their strategies, growing their business and mitigating risks. He has advised his clients on business and transactional matters in North America, South America, the Middle East and across Europe.

Scott joined CalAmp from Verra Mobility Corp. (NASDAQ: VRRM), a global leader in smart transportation solutions. Prior to Verra Mobility, Scott served in roles of increasing responsibility for Husqvarna Group and Occidental Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: OXY). Before moving to Occidental Petroleum, he practiced with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP and Simmons & Simmons LLP in both Los Angeles and London.

Scott holds a first-class bachelor’s degree from the University of Durham, UK and completed his legal studies at the University of Law in London, UK. He began his career as a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, was admitted to practice law in California in 2002, and is also admitted in Arizona.
