Mark Butland

Mark Butland currently serves as the Dean of Learning and Instruction at Calbright College, overseeing competency-based education programs for California's online community college. In addition, Mark holds the position of Director at the Iowa EdTech Collaborative, contributing to the enhancement of the EdTech sector in Iowa. With a foundation in communication education, Mark has been a Corporate Trainer since 2005 through Butland Communications and previously held academic roles as Professor and Faculty Senate President at Austin Community College, Dean at Kirkwood Community College, and full-time faculty at Baylor University. Mark earned an Ed.D. in Community College Leadership from National American University and holds both an M.A. and B.A. from Texas State University, demonstrating a strong background in communication studies and education.
