Vance Hickin

Director, Digital Strategy at Calbright College

Vance Hickin is the current Director of Digital Strategy at Calbright College. Prior to this, they served as Head of Digital at the Annenberg Foundation from January 2018 to April 2021, where they were responsible for strategy, platforms, and content for the Annenberg Foundation, Annenberg Space for Photography, Annenberg Learner, PledgeLA, and other initiatives. From December 2016 to March 2017, Hickin served as Digital Director on the re-election campaign for Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, which resulted in Garcetti winning with a historic share of over 80% of LA voters. Hickin also served as Digital Director for Yes On Measure M, a county ballot measure in Los Angeles which passed with over 70% of the vote, enacting a major investment in transportation, infrastructure, and mobility improvements for Los Angeles. Prior to that, Hickin served as Senior Vice President of Digital at Mercury from November 2013 to October 2014.

Vance Hickin has a Master of Arts in Communication from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Diego State University. Vance also has an Academic Internship Semester in Grassroots Lobbying from The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars.

Vance Hickin reports to Ajita Talwalker Menon, President & CEO. They work with Justin Gatewood - Director of Information Systems, Varun Mehta - Web Engineer, and Michael Younger - VP, Workforce, Strategy & Innovation.
