Mike Nelson, Ed.D, serves as the Interim Superintendent of School Improvement with the Calgary Board of Education since August 2016, overseeing student achievement, equity, and well-being across various school areas. Prior roles within the Calgary Board of Education include Education Director, Director of Human Resources, and System Principal, with a focus on enhancing educational quality and operations in diverse school settings. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education and multiple master's degrees from the University of Calgary, along with a Bachelor of Physical Education from Acadia University. With extensive experience spanning over two decades in various educational roles, Mike Nelson is committed to fostering a world-class and inclusive learning environment.
