Joe Russack

Director, Scientific Computing at California Academy Of Sciences

Joe Russack is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in scientific computing, cloud engineering, and software development. Currently serving as the Director of Scientific Computing at the California Academy of Sciences since December 2014, Russack oversees a research computing strategy that includes project management, security compliance, and inter-departmental collaboration. Prior roles include leading engineering teams at Seagate Technology, directing RTLS Software Engineering at Checkpoint, and serving in various capacities at Sun Microsystems, where responsibilities encompassed project leadership, software development, and performance testing. Joe has a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering and a Bachelor's in Computer Science, both from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
