Data supports a center-based model as the most effective method for treating children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Similar to in-home services, the center-based model still allows for individual treatment plans in addition to supplemental home and community-based services as needed. This model also provides more learning opportunities for clients and increased support for staff.

The Role

California Autism Center designed the Case Assistant position as an excellent stepping stone toward the career path of a behavior analyst, allowing for leadership training and further supervision responsibility of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).


California Autism Center seeks a high-level behavior technician to join our Fresno team as a Case Assistant. Under a Case Manager's (BCBA) supervision, Case Assistants assist with designing and implementing applied behavior analysis (ABA) treatment programs for individuals on the autism spectrum. The Case Assistant is responsible for the following:
  • The supervision of a treatment team of technicians in initiating and maintaining ABA programs.
  • Supervise the treatment team assigned to each client's case to ensure we provide quality services and follow all behavior protocols.
  • Conducting functional behavioral assessments, skill assessments, and generating related behavior and skill acquisition plans while ensuring the effective implementation of all therapy plans for clients.
  • Supports the writing of clinical reports to funding agencies and other high-level supervision requirements as appropriate and necessary based on the client's service contract.
  • Ensures the effective implementation of all therapy plans, including behavior intervention plan (BIP)
  • Meeting with parents/caregivers monthly to provide parent training with (without) the client present and review their child's progress.

This is a full-time, salaried, non-exempt position with medical, dental, vision, vacation, and other full-time benefits.

The Case Assistant (BCBA Supervision) position is the only position that guarantees the following:

  • Quality BCBA supervision hours and training under a Behavior Analyst
  • Experience in case management to help prepare for the certification exam and, most importantly, to work as a behavior analyst.

Requirements

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in psychology, education, child development, speech and language pathology, or other related fields
  • Enrolled in an ABA Master's program and actively working towards BCBA credential
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification
  • Two years of ABA experience and a bachelor's degree or one year of ABA experience and 12 completed units of ABA graduate coursework

The ideal candidate also has:

  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Experience training technician with some high-level supervision experience
  • Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)
  • CPR and First Aid Certified

Full compensation package are based on candidate experience and certifications.

California pay range
$20$28 USD
