Matthew Yamamoto is currently a Research Assistant at California Botanic Garden since August 2023. Previously, Matthew worked as a Biological Science Technician for the National Park Service where surveys for invasive plants were conducted in wildfire-affected areas. At Connecticut College, Matthew served as an Undergraduate Researcher, culminating in an undergraduate thesis focused on the spread of native and invasive shrubs in regenerating forests. Additional experience includes positions in vegetation management and data collection at various national parks and conservation organizations, along with a background in tutoring music theory and chemistry. Matthew is pursuing a Master of Science in Botany at Claremont Graduate University from August 2023 to December 2025.
