Pilar Chaves

Pilar Chaves is a seasoned professional specializing in environmental policy and planning. Currently serving as a Farm Certifier Specialist at CCOF since August 2016, Pilar has prior experience as an Assistant Environmental Planner with the City of Pacific Grove, where responsibilities included implementing stormwater management programs, conducting spatial data analysis using GIS tools, and managing grant-funded projects. Additional roles include independent consulting for the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition and Agriculture and Land Based Training Association, along with internships focusing on communications and outreach. Educational background includes a Master's degree in International Environmental Policy from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, and a Master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology from Leiden University.
