Nicolas serves as a Senior Advisor on the Government Affairs Team, where his work focuses on school facilities policy and advocacy at the local, state, and federal level.
Prior to joining CCSA, Nicolas practiced law for 11 years, working primarily on transactional real estate and land use matters. Before law school, he served as a legislative aide to United States Senator Richard H. Bryan in Washington D.C., where he worked on policy issues including housing and urban development, banking and finance, and taxation. He has also served as an advisor to San Jose City Councilmember Margie Matthews, and managed city council and school bond campaigns.
Nicolas obtained a B.A. and J.D. from the University of San Diego. He lives in San Diego with his wife and three children, and has served as the Board Chair for the Museum School Governance Board for the past nine years.
