Kate Hammond

Kate Hammond is a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice, a position held since March 2022. Prior to this role, Kate worked as an Associate at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP from December 2019 to February 2022, and at McDermott Will & Emery from October 2013 to November 2019, where Kate also served as a Summer Associate in 2012. Earlier experience includes a Law Clerk position at the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Appellate Division, during the summer of 2011. Kate earned a Juris Doctor from the USC Gould School of Law in 2013 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Economics and Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, completed in 2009.
