Mathew Simkovits

Deputy Attorney General at California Department of Justice

Mathew Simkovits is a Deputy Attorney General in the Attorney General’s Honors Program at the California Department of Justice since September 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Fellow at the American Antitrust Institute from September 2022 to June 2023, and a Volunteer Law Clerk at the California Department of Justice from June 2022 to August 2022. Mathew also worked as a Certified Law Student at the Stanford Environmental Law Clinic and a Volunteer Law Clerk at the Washington State Office of the Attorney General in 2021. Additional roles include serving as a State Expert for the Stanford-MIT Healthy Elections Project, a Summer Associate at Tadler Law LLP, and a Policy Intern for State Representative Jay Kaufman and MASSPIRG. Mathew earned a Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Economics, and Philosophy from Washington University in St. Louis.
