Emily Read is a seasoned environmental scientist with extensive experience in habitat restoration, project management, and environmental monitoring. Currently serving as a Senior Environmental Scientist at the California Department of Water Resources, Emily manages habitat restoration projects, ensures compliance with environmental regulations, and oversees contract administration for restoration initiatives. Prior roles include Environmental Scientist positions at California State Parks, where project management and budget tracking were key responsibilities, and a California Sea Grant Fellowship focusing on estuaries within state parks. Emily's background also encompasses support roles at NOAA and UC Davis, along with a solid educational foundation, including a Master’s degree from the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management and a Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Information Sciences.
