Yiwei Cheng Ph.d

Yiwei Cheng Ph.D, PE is an experienced water resources engineer with a focus on hydrologic modeling and environmental systems. At the California Department of Water Resources since July 2020, Yiwei Cheng has been involved in designing water resources modeling studies for key state projects. Previous roles include serving as a Principal Investigator and modeling lead at Berkeley Lab and the Energy Biosciences Institute, where Yiwei Cheng conducted research on California water systems and renewable energy, utilizing machine learning for data analysis. Academically, Yiwei Cheng holds multiple degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology, including a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and Master's degrees in both Computer Science and Engineering and Civil and Environmental Engineering. Additionally, Yiwei Cheng has experience in teaching and educational program development.
