Zhenlin Zhang

Zhenlin Zhang is a highly experienced water resources engineer with a robust academic background in oceanography and hydrology. Currently serving as a Senior Water Resources Engineer at the California Department of Water Resources since November 2024, Zhenlin has held multiple positions in related fields, including Senior Water Resource Control Engineer at the State Water Resources Control Board and Water Resources Engineer at the California Department of Water Resources. Prior to these roles, Zhenlin worked as a Senior Scientist/Modeler and Environmental Scientist at the San Francisco Estuary Institute, focusing on modeling physical and biogeochemical processes in marine ecosystems. Zhenlin's academic foundation includes a PhD in Oceanography from The University of Western Australia, where research centered on three-dimensional modeling in coral reefs and lakes, as well as postdoctoral work investigating climate change impacts on marine environments.
