George Sittner

Chief Insurance Operations And Claims Officer at California Earthquake Authority

George Sittner has extensive work experience in the insurance industry. George is currently serving as the Chief Insurance Operations and Claims Officer at the California Earthquake Authority since July 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Hippo Insurance as the Director of Claims Innovation from March 2021 to August 2023.

George also held the position of Head of Property Claims at Esurance from January 2015 to March 2021. During their tenure, they successfully led a startup property claims team and developed a virtual claims model that achieved high-level results at a low cost. George also managed relationships with vendor partners and other stakeholders.

Before joining Esurance, George worked at Farmers Insurance as the National Systems Manager - Strategic Initiatives from January 2003 to January 2015. George also gained experience as a General Adjuster at Crawford and Company from 2001 to 2002. George started their career at USAA, where they served as the Manager of Insurance Operations from 1987 to 2001.

George Sittner began their education at the University of Northern Colorado from 1978 to 1983, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics. George then pursued further education at Golden Gate University, obtaining an MBA in Business Administration from 1993 to 1995. Later, from 2012 to 2016, they attended Golden Gate University again to earn a Master of Science (MS) degree in Management Information Systems and Services. Most recently, from 2017 to 2021, George studied at the University of Phoenix, where they completed a Doctorate degree in Management in Organizational Leadership.
