Arlene Vernon MD FACEP FAAEM has extensive work experience in the medical field. Arlene began their career in 1989 at St Mary Medical Center Long Beach as an Emergency Physician. In 2018, they became the Department Chair at the same hospital and held that position until 2021. In 2020, they joined Vituity as an Assistant Medical Director. Most recently, they are serving as the Chief of Staff at St Mary Medical Center Long Beach since 2024. Additionally, they served as the Vice Chief of Staff from 2022 to 2023 at the same hospital.

Arlene Vernon MD FACEP FAAEM obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from The George Washington University in 1986. Arlene completed their Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician FAAEM degree through the Harbor UCLA Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency program from 1986 to 1989. Prior to that, they attended El Camino Real High School from 1972 to 1975. Arlene earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sports Medicine from San Diego State University from 1976 to 1979. Arlene also pursued a field of study in Kinesiology and Exercise Science at San Diego State University. Furthermore, in 1975 they studied Pre Med at UC San Diego.
