Elizabeth Peisner

Elizabeth Peisner, EdD, MPA, MS has a diverse work experience in various roles related to student affairs and health and wellness in higher education institutions. Elizabeth "Liz" has served as the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs: Health and Wellness at the California Institute of the Arts, where they oversaw the overall operations of the Student Health Center, Psychological Counseling Services, and Disability Services. Prior to that, they were the Interim Executive Director of Health & Wellness/Interim Director of Psychological Counseling Services at CSU, Stanislaus.

Elizabeth has also worked in the higher education industry, where they held the position of Interim Assistant Dean/Director for Student Affairs; Student Health & Wellness; Student Life. In addition, they co-founded and served as a disabled student services consultant for Success Through Access, a consulting group focused on inclusive education design and counseling for marginalized populations.

Further in their career, Elizabeth worked as a Student Veteran Services Counselor/Clinical Intern at California State University Bakersfield, where they designed and implemented counseling programs and support services for student veterans. Elizabeth "Liz" also has experience as an Invited Lecturer at the University of Southern California, specializing in challenges in urban education and diversity.

Additionally, Elizabeth has held leadership positions at The Art Institutes and Southwestern Law School, where they were involved in academic affairs and career counseling. Elizabeth "Liz" started their career as a Health Education Coordinator at the Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness, Inc., conducting seminars and workshops on HIV/AIDS education and analysis of statistical health data.

Elizabeth "Liz" Peisner, EdD, MPA, MS has a strong educational background in various fields. Elizabeth "Liz" earned a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Educational Leadership: Higher Education from USC Rossier School of Education in the years 2008-2011. In 2014-2016, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Counseling at California State University, Bakersfield. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree in Public Administration from California State University, Northridge in 2002-2004. Their undergraduate studies were also completed at California State University, Northridge, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science from 1995 to 2001.

In addition to their formal education, Liz Peisner has obtained several certifications. Elizabeth "Liz" holds a Behavior Intervention Team certification from NABITA (National Association for Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment) as of 2022. Elizabeth "Liz" also possesses certifications in Basic Lifesaving Skills and First Aid Health Care Provider obtained from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association in October 2020. Furthermore, they obtained a Certificate of Clearance - Counseling/Teaching and passed the CBEST (California Basic Educational Skills Test) in 2015. Additionally, Liz has completed the ASIST: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training from Kern County Mental Health Services in 2014. Lastly, they hold a SIVRA-35 certification from NABITA, also obtained in 2014.
