Kristen Nelson

Kristen Nelson is a seasoned professional in plant science and conservation, currently serving as the Rare Plant Program Manager at California Native Plant Society since January 2023. Previously, Kristen held positions as Western Program Manager and Science Coordinator at Monarch Joint Venture from January 2022 to January 2023, and worked as an Environmental Specialist for the County of San Luis Obispo from March 2021 to January 2022. Kristen's extensive experience includes over a decade as an Environmental Scientist and Senior Botanist at Terra Verde Environmental Consulting from August 2010 to February 2021, as well as a role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at California Polytechnic State University from September 2014 to June 2016. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Biological Sciences/Botany and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management and Protection with a focus on Sustainable Development and Ecology, both obtained from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
