Michael Kauffmann is an accomplished environmental educator, author, graphic designer, and project manager with extensive experience in biodiversity conservation and educational curriculum development. Currently involved with the California Native Plant Society in a vegetation sampling project for the Klamath Mountains, Michael has authored natural history and hiking guides and served as a curriculum developer for Save the Redwoods League. As Board President of the Bigfoot Trail Alliance, Michael supports the establishment of a 360-mile route celebrating regional biodiversity. Previous roles include instructional coaching at Fortuna Elementary School District and consultancy on National Science Foundation projects at Humboldt State University. Michael holds a Master of Science in Biology and a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Chemistry from Virginia Tech.
