Heath Niemeyer

Interim VP, University Advancement at California State University, Bakersfield

Heath Niemeyer is the interim VP for University Advancement at California State University, Bakersfield. Heath was previously the assistant vice president for development at United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona from December 2016 to August 2017. Prior to that, they were the chief development officer at United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg from January 2013 to March 2016, where they oversaw the PCFO Central Virginia Combined Federal Campaign. Heath was also the vice president of resource development at United Way of the Coastal Bend from August 2011 to December 2012. Heath began their career in the nonprofit sector as a part-time campaign associate sponsored by IBM at United Way of Tarrant County, where they were eventually hired full-time as a director of development and left as the assistant VP, all in a four year span. Prior to their work in the nonprofit sector, Heath was the sales & operations manager at CoMatrix from January 2000 to December 2006.

Heath Niemeyer has a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Bakersfield and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from California State University, Fullerton. Heath also has certifications from the American Institute for Philanthropic Studies in Certified Specialist in Planned Giving, FEMA in IS-00906 Basic Workplace Security Awareness, FEMA in IS-00907 Active Shooter, FEMA in IS-00230.d Fundamentals of Emergency Management, FEMA in IS-00700.b Introduction to the National Incident Management System, and United Way Worldwide in UWW Global Resident Fellows.
