Param Desai

Param Desai is an undergraduate researcher at California State University, Northridge, involved in writing algorithms and machine learning models to analyze immunoglobulin folds for drug discovery applications. Additionally, Param serves as an instructional student assistant, teaching calculus and precalculus courses. Currently serving as a research fellow at ARCS at CSUN, Param is focused on developing novel neural network architectures for vehicle detection and classification using 3D LiDAR point clouds, while also working as an associate researcher on a project related to real-time traffic flow monitoring. Previously, Param worked as a software developer for CSUN Matabots, programming robots for Vex Robotics competitions. Param is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics at CSUN, expected to graduate in May 2026.
